BENEFITS OF PLANT-DERIVED MINERALS

Ever since people have been roaming the ground, plant foods are the dietary supply of minerals--until lately.

An integrative physician in private practice, Andersen is also a highly respected expert in land and crop management. Why are veggies more depleted than veggies? "Because vegetables are typically annuals, they don't have as big a root system. Fruits are perennials that are on a tree," he clarifies. "Trees have a much larger and deeper root system, so they are ready to excavate more nourishment than a vegetable."

For both, the inherent difficulty is mineral-depleted soil, chiefly as a result of industrial agriculture with chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides. Although minerals can be replaced in the soil, this is not regular farming practice today.

Why Minerals out of Plants?

We need over 70 trace minerals--"trace" literally meaning tiny amounts. "The whole combination is essential for proper function of the human body," says Dean. Their source also issues. Though minerals come from the stone of one form or the other, the human body is not made to absorb nutrients from stones, Dean points out. Mineral-rich plants have been our traditional origin. "Getting all those nutrients in the manner that they originally appeared in character is one way to compensate for the absence of what should be there in the current food," she states. "Not only concerning the wide variety and combination of nutritional supplements but equally important, their bioavailability."

When trace minerals meet these standards, they could effectively do their job. "They enter the cells and they pull them," explains Dean. "This serves the function of hundreds and thousands of metabolic processes, and it keeps the cells hydrated."

As an example of the way in which a lack can cause harm, the thyroid wants a combination of six minerals: potassium, selenium, iodine, manganese, molybdenum, and zinc. And some copper is needed to sustain a balance.

"If you don't get them into some kind, then your thyroid slows down and your whole metabolism slows down," says Dean, "Your fever gets lower, you become susceptible to diseases and yeast overgrowth... I mean it activates such an avalanche of chaos."

How to Utilize Plant Minerals

Plant nutrient supplements stem from ancient deposits of mineral-rich plant issue. One source is Senonian vegetate in Utah.

"Start slowly and keep track of how you are feeling --actually use your own instinct," she says. As your body becomes re-mineralized, metabolism revs up, she states, and as time passes, you are likely to require higher dosages.

People have reported a variety of benefits, such as additional energy or sleeping through the night without needing to visit the bathroom. But Dean highlights that because trace minerals are essential for the human body's overall function, they could produce many curative effects that are unique to every person.
